than a weathervane. The following lines illustrate

The Traditional
Each "Traditional" Original Forgery
weathervane is manufactured by hand and based on designs from
long ago. Each Cardinal assembly (NSEW) is made from 12mm solid
bar, twisted along its length and finished top and bottom with
a hand made scroll. These are then welded to the central hub
which includes two locking collars to secure the cardinal to
the mounting post. Each vane features a balanced motif/ arrow
assembly measuring approximately 32" across. This pivots
on a hardened ball bearing giving very free movement. The whole
weathervane is then acid etched, zinc phosphate primed and finished
with two coats of black eggshell paint.

The Orbital
The "Orbital" features a newly designed Cardinal (NSEW)
assembly complemented by an upper and lower steel sphere. Made by
hand this vane uses 5mm solid steel elements in its construction and
like its "Traditional" brother uses two locking colars to
secure it to the mounting post. Although this Cardinal is physically
smaller than that used in "Traditional" both weathervane
designs use the same size of motif. In addition to the acid etch,
zinc phosphate and black eggshell finish, the spheres, arrow and flights
are highlighted with copper patina to create a stunning weathervane.
